Mealmoji is a food-diary app that lets you photograph your meals, cut the food out into stickers, log them to a calendar, and optionally get AI calorie and macro estimates. This policy explains what data the app uses and when. We designed Mealmoji to keep your meals on your device by default; a few optional features involve other services, and those are described clearly below.
Mealmoji has no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal profile. Your meal content — photos, generated stickers, captions, calorie/macro figures, dates, and your settings — is created and stored on your device.
Turning your photo into a sticker uses Apple's Vision framework and runs entirely on your device. The cutout step does not send your photo anywhere.
Calorie analysis is optional and only happens when you tap "Analyze" on a meal. When you do, that meal photo is sent over a secure connection to our analysis service, which uses Google's Gemini model to estimate the dish, calories, and macronutrients, and returns the result to the app. The image is used only to produce that estimate; we do not use it to identify you, build an advertising profile, or sell it. If you never tap "Analyze," your photos are not sent off your device for analysis.
If you enable iCloud sync, your meal diary and images are stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit so they back up and sync across your devices. This data lives in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it. Sync is off by default.
If you turn on Apple Health, Mealmoji writes the calories and macros of the meals you log into the Health app, with your permission. Mealmoji only writes this data — it does not read any health data — and this information is not sent to us or any third party.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect device and usage information and identifiers, as described inGoogle's Privacy & Terms. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings, and Premium subscribers see no ads at all.
Mealmoji Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your payment-card details. Apple may share aggregate, non-identifying purchase information with us.
Permissions are requested only when needed, and the app does not use your camera or photos in the background.
Mealmoji is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You control your data. Delete individual meals at any time, and deleting the app removes the meals and photos stored on your device. You can turn iCloud sync, Apple Health, and reminders on or off in Settings, and manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the latest version.
